Slice and Bloom Side Table

Notes from the bench

A slice of natural wood with its live edge intact, set beside a drift of preserved flowers in pale resin: gray-blue and cream blooms, small red accents, a feathery plume and dark green leaves. In the photograph the resin is milky cream rather than clear, with a thin clear rim at the edge. The wood fills most of the top, and its grain runs right up to the resin.

The top stands on three solid wood legs that go on without tools. Wipe it with a soft damp cloth, and keep it from harsh chemicals, strong heat and direct sun. Every slice has its own grain, so this arrangement exists only once.
