Gearwork Desk Clock

Notes from the bench

A round desk clock cut from live-edge wood and framed in deep green resin. The wood forms the face; resin runs along the top and bottom, and in the lower band a handful of small metal gears sit sealed under the surface.

Gold-colored Roman numerals mark twelve, three, six and nine, with slim black hands, and the VI sits among the gears. The clock rests against a matching live-edge wood base that keeps its natural bark edge, and it suits a desk, a shelf or a mantel. The grain is different in every one. It also suits a housewarming, birthday or office gift.
